Volcano Relief Effort | SVGAO Silent Auction

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a chain of 32 islands in the Eastern Caribbean. On April 9, 2021, the island of St. Vincent and its people were hit with a devastating volcanic eruption, resulting in significant damage to livelihoods. This will be very difficult to recover from.

This silent auction is in support of the emergency needs of those affected and we welcome your participation.

The SVGAO was founded by Vincentians in Ottawa on October 27, 1979, the same date our native homeland gained full independence from Britain and the year of the eruption of the volcano, La Soufriere. At the time of the establishment of the Association, the purpose was to assist with aid to those who were displaced in the wake of the eruption. Since then, the Association has broadened its scope of mission — to promote and support civic engagement locally as well as in our native homeland. We work in partnership with other Vincentian, ethnic and cultural groups in Canada who share a common goal with us.
