S&R Tournament and Auction

SNGCSA Members,

The Board of Directors would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our 2020 Scholarship & Research Auction site. The lifeline of our association and its’ ability to provide scholarships to worthy students and conduct local research rests with our affiliates and sponsors. As you browse the auction items, please take note of the vendors that donated product despite the cancellation of this year’s S&R event. Dr. Jim Baird, of UC-Riverside is currently conducting three studies in our valley: (1) Poa Cure trial @ Anthem Country Club; (2) Pre-emergent study @ Las Vegas Golf Club; and finally (3), a bermudagrass trial at Shadow Creek GC. These studies will carry on into 2021, which makes the funds raised in our annual S&R critical to keep the research rolling. Further, each year we provide thousands of dollars to fantastic students in the form of legacy or turfgrass management scholarships. Thus, please thank our affiliate sponsors for their contributions and bid away!

As we move into 2021, the Board of Directors will continue to assess the current operational climate in the Southern Nevada and set beneficial events that bring high-level education and valuable networking opportunities for all members. At this point, we have the 2021 S&R scheduled for June at Red Rock CC, which will undoubtedly be a fantastic event!

The purpose of the SNGCSA shall be to provide for and enhance the recognition of the golf course superintendent as a professional, and to collect and disseminate information on a statewide basis to assist our members in providing for better maintenance and construction of our golf courses.

A golf course superintendent is one who is entrusted with the management and operation of the tract of land defined as a golf course, including involvement in construction and maintenance of golf courses and related equipment.
