Langseth Masse Moro Fundraising Auction

 The purpose of the Sons of Norway Fifth District Nordic Legacy Foundation, Inc. is to support youth, heritage, culture, and education through presentations, programs, and foundation grants. The Foundation is a 501(c) (3) and donations given are tax deductible (minus any costs/services received) for the donation. We welcome donations given to help support District 5 activities such as Masse Moro, District Scholarships, and other activities and programs that may come forth. This online auction is to raise funds from the sale of the hand-carved bowl with handle by acclaimed Ume Sami artist Rivojen Jørn Magnus Langseth for Masse Moro. The artist works to preserve the Ume Sami culture including the language, art, food, and traditions which are offered to visitors in cultural immersion presentations during the summer and ongoing efforts to acknowledge the language and teach it in Norway.  Langseth’s art has been shown throughout Scandinavia and Europe and some other parts of the world. His pieces range from small bowls to large outdoor installations to pieces for churches.

To give bidders opportunities to bid on or purchase other Norwegian handicrafts, we have added additional items to the auction. The sales from these items will go back to the artist and are not a part of the Masse Moro fundraiser. Only the sale of the Langseth bowl will go towards Masse Moro.
