Virtual Starry Night

You won't want to miss the Starry Night Zoom Party taking place on Saturday, August 29 from 7-9pm! PRC Executive Director, Shena Rossettie, will give a brief welcome with highlights from 2019/2020, an overview of our funding needs, and plans for the future. Stick around after for a fun game of trivia and giveaways! This event is FREE, but registration is required! Click the link to register: https://zoom.us/meeting/91285462250.

Starry Night is our annual fundraiser, now in its 14th year! We rely upon donations from this event to keep the cost of our programming low so that we can reach all families, regardless of ability to pay.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 in community support through this event. Your support is needed more than ever as we face revenue loss from closure, and prepare for additional expenses to reopen safely.

Your donation supports:
• A drop-in play, socializing and learning center for the whole family
• Free workshops and classes, including: parent education, art and culture exploration, STEM development and camp
• Private supervised visitation for families to have a safe, home-like environment to spend time together during private hours
• Special support during COVID-19 pandemic: virtual parent education and support, outdoor programming like our parent-child "Juice & Paint" class, virtual playdates, virtual supervised visitation and more.

Thank you for your support!

About Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center

The PRC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Corning, NY that serves our community by providing resources and support to families with young children. We offer a drop-in center, parent education classes, camp and short term childcare, supervised visitation and more.

Our Story:
In the late '80s, local preschool teachers, including "Nonnie" Hood, helped open the first resource center in Corning in 1988 out of a desire to serve preschool children by supporting their whole family.

This first center was located on the second floor of the Corning-Painted Post School District Administration building on Charles Street in Painted Post. It later moved to Franklin Pierce Elementary School in Coopers Plains.

In 2001, the center became an independent 501 (c) 3 non profit organization, taking the name "Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center" in honor of one of its original founders. At that time, the PRC moved to its current home in downtown Corning above the library, where its central location supports its vision of strong, happy families connected to their community.
