SHAID Tree Animal Shelter

The proceeds of this fundraiser will be allocated to the daily medical attention that all the new animals coming through our doors receive. During our 2022 calendar year, our shelter provided a dozen major surgeries (including four eye removal surgeries from intakes with badly infected and/or severely injured eyes, seven full-dental removal surgeries [all due to a condition known as stomatitis), and a double bilateral entropion for Nova, our rottweiler], in addition to spaying and neutering over 400 animals. We are pleased to say that our Trap-Neuter-Return program benefited from our community support and increased 62.5% in 2022 which is helping combat the exploding feral cat populations on the south shore, and eliminated “production” at three feral cat colonies!

Our shelter’s medical expenses in 2022 totaled over $93,000 and our TNR, Barn Cat, and Low Income Spay-Neuter programs added an additional $10,475 to our annual budget. Without our community's amazing and generous support, these surgeries would not be possible.

SHAID Tree Animal Shelter is a registered charity (130169113RR0001) established in 1986. We provide temporary care and shelter to helpless animals in distress and place as many as possible into loving and responsible homes. We are proudly a no-kill shelter. We also strive to educate the public in responsible pet ownership and strongly promote the spaying and neutering of pets.
