About Our Auction
The California Fall Challenge is a month of fundraising events and contests to raise $30,000 to support our avian research and bird and habitat conservation work. Through our silent auction, participants help us reach our fundraising goal and receive great items of experiences.
About San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory
The San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory is a nonprofit dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats through science and outreach.
We do science to better understand our local bird populations and their habitats. We share our data with universities and other scientists who use it to answer important questions about the health of our ecosystems, and with policymakers and Bay Area residents who use it to preserve the beauty and biodiversity of our region. Through our habitats programs, we work to determine and implement methods to restore Snowy Plover, Burrowing Owl, and tidal marsh habitat.
We do outreach because we know science is only half of the equation. We understand that in order to meet our mission, we need communities that value birds and are willing to work for their survival. We engage hundreds of volunteers each year in citizen science opportunities that increase their investment in our work. Through our environmental education and outreach activities we connect people to the birds in their neighborhoods and help instill in the public a desire to protect wild animals and wild spaces.

Auctioned gift certificates will be mailed or e-mailed to their bid winners. All other items must be picked up at our Annual Membership Meeting in Woodside, CA, on Oct. 20, 2018, at 12:30 p.m., or can be picked up at our office in Milpitas, CA, any weekday after Oct. 20, 2018.
Live Event Information
At 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, our online auction will transition to a live auction at our Annual Membership Meeting, which will be from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018. At 12:30 p.m. the entire auction will be over and we will contact the winners.
If you have already bid on an item online and would like someone at the event to bid for you by proxy, please send an e-mail to email@example.com and let us know which item(s) you would like us to bid on by proxy for you and the maximum amount you allow us to bid.
You must be available to pick up the item you win at our office in Milpitas in November (except for gift certificates, which we can mail to you). Thank you for participating in our auction!
