SECC History and Information:

2024 marks the 30th year of generous giving by state, higher education, and retired employees through the SECC. Since 1994, state employees have contributed more than $209 million to support the work of more than 2,000 nonprofits serving Texas. Let’s make this year the best SECC yet!

Whether you’re passionate about education, health, financial stability, providing basic needs or other ways of supporting Texans, SECC is your place to be part of the solution. By donating to charities that you care about, you can build stronger communities made up of healthy children and families, thriving economic conditions, good education options, and more.

Over 1,000 charities participate in SECC, and they help all types of Texas inhabitants. Your donation can provide meals to hungry children or assist veterans by placing them with a service dog. There are so many worthy causes to promote, but overall, your support helps your neighbors, people in your community, in your state, both human and animal alike.

About Texas Department of Motor Vehicles

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) was created by the state legislature in 2009 to enhance customer service, consumer protection and the success of motor vehicle-related industries. The department administers broad-ranging motor vehicle programs including vehicle registration and titling; vehicle dealer regulation; bus and carrier credentialing for intrastate and interstate commerce; oversize and overweight permit issuance; and grants to law enforcement agencies to reduce vehicle burglaries and thefts.

The department is one of a handful of state agencies that brings in more revenue for the state than it expends on its own operations. The majority of revenue collections are used to build and maintain the state’s transportation infrastructure.

A nine-member board, appointed by the governor, oversees TxDMV policy making activities. Daily operations are managed by the agency’s executive director and professional staff to achieve the department’s mission: “To serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services.”
