About Our Auction
Created in 2009 by Barbara & Arnie Grevior (Founding Sponsors), Dr. William Abare (President of Flagler College) and Gregory & Bonnie von Hausch (artistic directors), The Saint Augustine Film Festival rapidly became the leading motion picture event in Northeast Florida. SAFF attracted audiences from across the country to attend annually, creating a "Heads-in-Beds" bonanza for local hotels, a captive audience for downtown restaurants, and an electrifying event for filmgoers.
Bringing in top name talent (such as Karen Allen, Giancarlo Esposito, Talia Shire, Wendie Malick, Melora Harden, Candy Clark, Mary Stuart Masterson, Kier Dullea and indie filmmakers not as well known) and a slate of 40 international films each year is a financially challenging task. The Auction helps us get closer to breaking even.
About Saint Augustine Film Festival
The Saint Augustine Film Festival is the only non-profit professional film festival in Northeast Florida. The Festival features forty international films that were selected from programs including Cannes Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival and Venice Film Festival. We also choose for entries on FilmFreeway.com. SAFF takes place in January, during St Augustine's world famous Nights of Lights. St Augustine is the oldest city in the US (1565) and all screenings and parties take place in the Historic Downtown and can be walked within five minutes from each other.
