Railroad Park celebrates Birmingham’s industrial and artistic heritage at the site of Birmingham’s founding. The 19-acre park is a joint effort between the City of Birmingham and the non-profit Railroad Park Foundation. Railroad Park opened in September 2010 to great acclaim, and quickly began receiving regional and national awards for design and programming. In the tradition of other great urban parks, Railroad Park has become a regional hub that creates vibrancy, cultivates civic pride, supports economic development, strengthens community, fortifies health and wellness, catalyzes progress, and inspires hope. With support from public and private partners, Railroad Park has demonstrated that together, we can spur significant progress in our city and region.

Mission: Railroad Park inspires energy, revitalization and a sense of place in Birmingham by stimulating cultural, economic and social activity within and around the Park.
