The Highlands Center for Natural History and the City of Prescott are pleased to have held the 1st Annual Plein Air Art Festival in Prescott, AZ October 1 through October 4, 2020.

Plein Air Art is where artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works in outdoor locations.

It is a Highlands Center belief that everyone has a fundamental need to connect with the natural world. The Plein Air Art Festival is one way in which this need is nurtured and a relationship with nature is fostered. Our vision is to create and expand an Annual Plein Air Art Festival celebrating the natural landscapes of Prescott and supporting the artists that seek to capture it on canvas .

Artists are donating 50% of the proceeds to the Highlands Center for Natural History. Funds will be used to support ongoing educational programs for all ages and for future Prescott Plein Air Festivals.

Thank you to our talented artists, generous sponsors, and you the public for your enthusiastic support for our first annual Prescott Plein Air Art Festival.

We can't do it without you, and WE APPRECIATE YOU to the moon and beyond!

About Highlands Center for Natural History

The Highlands Center for Natural History (HCNH) helps children and adults discover the wonders of nature and become wise caretakers of the land. Established in 1996, the HCNH is a science-based non-profit organization developed to foster an appreciation for and knowledge of the natural wonders of the Central Highlands in Arizona.

Operating on an 80-acre campus near Lynx Lake through a Special Use Permit with Prescott National Forest, the Highlands Center is a hub for lifelong learning, designed to invite discovery of the wonders of nature through on and offsite programs reaching over 15,000 children and adults each year.

The Center is supported by volunteers, memberships, educational programs, outdoor entertainment, and generous contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and community partners.
