Celebrating Our Heritage | Securing Our Future
The Peterborough Players online auction is back and better than ever, with many more items, services, and trips! However, due to the pandemic that has rendered the theatre dark for the summer, we have had to rearrange our year. This year our online auction is running from October 11 – October 25, 2020!
There is always something surprising, thought-provoking or moving happening on stage at the Players, but we count on friends like you to help us produce professional live summer theatre right here in the Monadnock region, and to bring you the HD Live at the Met operas, and the National Theatre screenings from London. Ticket sales normally cover 60% of the cost of running the theatre, but this year, with no summer season, we are relying on the online auction more than ever to achieve our financial goals. Our fabulous Virtual Gala will be held on November 7, 2020 and we anticipate a very lively and entertaining evening indeed.
We must recoup the vital funds needed to keep the Peterborough Player’s functioning at the high level of expertise our patrons have come to expect from us, and by bidding on these items you are guaranteeing that we will be able to continue providing you with the magic of year-round theatre as soon as our "forced intermission” is over.
Thank you! And please join us in APPLAUDING our very generous sponsors:
About the Peterborough Players
Peterborough Players is a cultural treasure; an 87-year-old, fully professional Equity theatre in an unexpected setting—an historic barn, 3 miles outside of downtown Peterborough, NH. The theatre offers a traditional summer season from June through September, a three-play winter season, HD Live at the Met operas and London’s National Theatre offerings, all with a challenging repertoire ranging from the classics of world literature, to the best of contemporary theatre, and recently pieces from the American musical theatre as well. The Players produces professional theatre at a level of quality that has gained it a significant national reputation “American summer repertory theatre at its most accomplished” – Terry Teachout, The Wall Street Journal.
“The Barn”, now renovated to a welcoming 250 seat theatre is a cultural and economic linchpin drawing audiences from all over the Monadnock region and beyond, fulfilling its historic mission to: “Enrich the human experience by producing quality live professional theatre, developing and training theatre artists, and offering New Hampshire a wide variety of performing arts events.” To this end, our second company of interns and apprentices spend each summer season learning all aspects of the craft and typically produce two shows a season especially created for young audiences.
The Peterborough Players is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.
