Cool Cats of Delaware Water Gap

Have you heard?  It seems over 15 creatively constructed Cool Cats have invaded Delaware Water Gap and are vacationing in virtually all downtown businesses!  The cats, and their artist creators love Delaware Water Gap, and need everyone to walk the town to locate as many as they can!  Pocono Center For The Arts  is presenting this fundraiser, a unique and fun art experience.

 From this Saturday, June 28th through August the public is encouraged to locate at least 12 cats and submit the location and title of each cat, to be entered to win valuable prizes, donated by fabulous local businesses and individuals.  They can submit what they think are the correct answers, and if determined so, will be entered into a raffle, with random names being chosen to win one of an awesome selection of prizes! This raffle will take place after August 31st, 2025.  We will host an online bid auction beginning July 1st, of which PCFTA takes a portion of the proceeds.        

 The auction will continue into September, and we’ll herd the cats to a venue in the area, where there will be an event,  The date of the event and end of auction TBA shortly. We know our PCFTA supporters, friends’ circles, and cat and animal enthusiasts will support, attend, & bid on these beautiful artful cats in this fundraising event!

Fees collected from artists to procure their cat statues will be given to three local cat rescues, Animals Can't Talk (ACT), Ozzie's Angels, and SOS Animal Rescue.  This is "kitten season," and along with Trap, Neuter, Return programs, vet and food needs, these rescues rely on adoption fees, and direct donations.

The Pocono region is in need of a center where theater groups can rehearse and perform, artists have more locations to exhibit their works, art educators can teach in classes with proper supplies and facilities, other non-profit art organizations can be housed, and the community and tourists can be entertained and experience the works of local and national artists. Founders Skip Scheetz and Richard Spezzano have had extensive experience in the Arts. They are committed and determined to build the Pocono Center for the Arts and hope that you will join them in this important and exciting endeavor.
