About Perkins County Health Services Foundation
At PCHS Foundation, supporting quality health care close to home in our rural community is the reason we exist. In 1987 the Perkins County Health Services Foundation was created to help our rural health care system continue to grow and provide care to our community.
Many in America – especially those in rural areas such as ours, do not have access to qualified surgeons much less specialized surgeons. Oftentimes patients have to travel long hours to find the care they need. It is a hardship for patients and families. Fortunately, that is not the case at Perkins County Health Services.
Perkins County Health Services is a critical access hospital. As a critical access hospital, we staff and maintain fully functional state of the art operating rooms. These rooms are essential to provide a wide range of surgical procedures to our patients. Having the full complement of staff available at PCHS provides patients with the option to have surgery close to home. This is important in the patient’s overall well being as they can continue to see medical staff they are familiar with, remain in an environment known to them, as well as being able to have family and friends nearby to assist with recovery and eventual dismissal from the hospital.
Delivering and always improving the quality of patient-centered care at PCHS is a high priority. That is why we are seeking funding to purchase several new pieces of equipment for the operating suite. This equipment is essential for our staff to continue to provide the highest quality of care possible while keeping the operating room efficient.
