About Perkins County Health Services Foundation
At PCHS Foundation, supporting quality health care close to home in our rural community is the reason we exist. In 1987 the Perkins County Health Services Foundation was created to help our rural health care system continue to grow and provide care to our community.
Perkins County Health Services is a critical access hospital. As a critical access hospital, we staff and maintain fully functional state of the art operating rooms. These rooms are essential to provide a wide range of surgical procedures and digital imaging testing to our patients.
We are extremely fortunate to have full medical services and medical personnel available in our county. Your support of this event will help us purchase the new digital imaging equipment needed to provide the very best patient centered care.
The PCHS digital imaging department served 4,270 patients from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 and performed 6,798 tests. Just think what those patients would have had to do if they had to travel 50-300 miles or more to receive those same tests.
The process of diagnosis is stressful – by having the opportunity to receive digital imaging here in Grant helps to reduce the stress of driving to another location, working with different doctors and technicians, and going to an unfamiliar facility. Not to mention the financial burdens associated with traveling. Testing at PCHS allows the patient to be surrounded by familiar medical staff and their support system. These factors play a huge role in the patient’s wellbeing.
The equipment for the digital imaging department totals $47,000 and provides a variety of equipment and items needed to both improve patient care and comfort and increase efficiencies for the staff in the department.
Delivering and always improving the quality of patient-centered care at PCHS is a high priority.
