About Our Auction
Odd Society Spirits is a craft distillery located in East Vancouver.
This auction is the culmination of many years of work. During Covid, we created a wall of empty whisky barrels to help separate customers in our distillery lounge. After the wall was up we decided to beautify the barrels by having local artists paint the ends. The idea was always to eventually auction the art off as a charity fund raiser. Once Covid was over, it made sense to cut off the ends of the barrels and hang them on the walls. We also began to give artists barrel ends to paint rather than the whole barrel. The collection continued to grow to its current size. As you will see, the beauty and creativity of the artists has been absolutely remarkable.
We looked for a neighborhood non-profit that we could partner with for the auction. We were impressed with Food Stash, a local non-profit focused on minimizing food waste. About The Food Stash Foundation
Food Stash is a registered charity located in East Vancouver. The Food Stash Foundation keeps quality surplus food from going to waste and delivers it where it's needed. Food Stash collects 130,000+ pounds of food per month that would otherwise be thrown out. This food is delivered to 45 charity partners. Rescued Food Boxes are delivered to 112 households, and they serve an average of 120 Rescued Food Market members weekly.
