OBI's 10th Anniversary Auction

The Orca Behavior Institute inspires conservation of wild killer whales through non-invasive research, bold advocacy, and science-based education. Founded in 2015, in honor of our 10th anniversary we are holding an online auction to help raise funds for our general operating budget in support of our mission. Help us raise $10k for our 10th!

The Orca Behavior Institute is a non-profit whale research organization based on San Juan Island, Washington. Founded in 2015, OBI was created by a small group of passionate community scientists.

Our mission is three-fold - to inspire conservation of wild killer whales through:

• Non-invasive research: document and publish trends in killer whale presence and habitat usage, behavioral budgets, and acoustic communication
• Science-based education: provide adults with continuing education opportunities to improve scientific literacy through the lens of whale research
• Bold advocacy: champion policies and management actions that are based in science and will achieve real results to protect and conserve killer whales and that ecosystems they depend on
