45th Anniversary

New Beginnings celebrates 45 years of service to the Washington, DC, metro area as a singular resource for people coping with divorce. We rely on membership dues, event fees and donations for our support. Every five years, we sponsor a Silent Auction, and this is our first one online!

Proceeds will fund ongoing programs of education and support. New Beginnings is the only organization offering these services in the DC metro area.

For 45 years, our mission has been to provide education and support to men and women coping with marital separation and divorce in the Washington DC metro area (MD, DC, VA) through facilitated discussion meetings, expert speakers and social events. We are unique to the DC area with the added distinction of being the only ongoing divorce support group that is open to both men and women and is also open to people with or without children.

Twice a year since 2013, we offer our signature 6-week public education series, Divorce 101, featuring 13 top family law professionals giving an overview of the divorce process in Maryland. For the nominal cost of $15/session or $75 for all six, our goal is to provide a foundation that enables participants to make wise choices about their future.

Divorce has long-lasting and far-reaching impact on the entire family. Our goal is to reduce the emotional and financial impact by providing practical information and a community of compassion as a foundation for healing.
