Annual Neil Falkner Outward Bound FUNdraiser 2014

EMPOWERING KIDS & YOUTH - FUNDRAISER ON APRIL 19th at ROBERTS CREEK HALL
Come down in the afternoon for a Giant Easter Egg Hunt! From 1:30 to 430 pm at Roberts Creek Hall, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt, clowns, crafts, puppetry and song. Bring the kids, young and old to gather eggs, visit the Silent Auction tables, and a variety of youth and family events. Come down for the Sunshine Coast's biggest ever Easter Egg hunt! The Fundraiser this year will be an All Day & Evening Event celebrating families and youth. Starting at 1:30 pm at Roberts Creek Hall, there will be a Giant Easter Egg Hunt. Bring the kids, young and old to gather eggs, visit the various youth and family events taking place in the Hall and browse the live auction tables. Afternoon events are all Free.
    The FUNdraising event begins in the evening at 8 pm (doors open at 730). British physical comedians - James & Jamesy (of 2 for Tea) will be there to serve tea and perfor an excerpt from new show. This will be your last chance to bid on auction items as the auction will close at 830 pm so that the entertainment can begin. Live entertainment includes James & Jamesy, M.C. Natasha, Lowry Olafson & the Theme Song Singers, Jean Pierre Makosso, and more including DJ Lucy of Rhythm City Productions for the Dance Party 'til midnight. Don't miss the fun or the opportunity to support Neil's legacy.
ABOUT THE SILENT AUCTION
Local, Lower Mainland, and Sea to Sky (Whistler) businesses, individuals, organizations, artists and practitioners have once again donated generously to our On-Line and Live Auction offering great opportunities, gifts and experiences. The Silent Auction is where we draw most of the funds raised to send at risk youth on life-changing Outward Bound Wilderness programs. Click on "View Our Auction" to see all the items available. To get more details about each auction item click on the headline description of the item and scroll down. Scroll all the way down and link to the donor's website. View the auction frequently as more donations will come in over the course of the auction. AND if there's something you really want, check to make sure you haven't been outbid. There are 3 pages of donations, so to view them all click 'next' at the top or bottom of each page or scroll back and forth between pages.    Our donors have given to the Fundraiser this year because they believe in the value of supporting deserving youth through the Neil Falkner Outward Bound Legacy. Youth are chosen for these annual awards on the basis of need.    You can view the auction as it is being created. Online bidding begins at 9 am (Pacific Time), April 8. Online bidding will close at 9 pm, April 18. Bidding will continue at the Live Auction at the April 19 Fundraiser. We hope you will join us but if you are unable to attend the fundraiser you can make a 'proxy' bid on any item you want. Your proxy bid will not be identified on the auction site. If live event bidders do not make a bid about your 'proxy' bid, the item is yours for the 'proxy' bid amount. Neil Falkner was a skier, outdoors enthusiast, motorcyclist, and adventurer who died while on a backcountry skiing trip in the Canadian Rockies in April 2002. In his teens, his mother sent him on an Outward Bound excursion. He told her it was the best gift she’d ever given him.

The memorial legacy fund was established in 2003 and has now sent a total of 24 youth on Outward Bound Wilderness Programs - programs that help them develop leadership skills, self-confidence, and team work. Two youth are selected each year for this challenging opportunity. They are all grade 10s who return to their schools eager to share and build on their new strengths and leadership skills. This auction will be presented Live at Roberts Creek Hall on Easter Saturday April 19th, 2014, 130 pm to 830 pm. Starting at 130 pm there will be a Giant Easter Egg Hunt at the Hall. Bring your Easter Baskets and see what the EASTER BUNNY has hidden in and around the Hall and check out the Silent Auction. The Hall will be open to the public all afternoon with Family and Youth Events and Activities.
The Gala FUNdraiser to send deserving youth to Outward Bound Wilderness Programs will start at 8 pm. Doors and Admission by donation open at 730 pm. Join James & Jamesy (of 2 for Tea), MC Natasha, Lowry Olafson, and DJ Lucy (of Rhythm City Productions) for an evening of entertainment, comedy, music and dance.
The On-line auction will close at 10 pm on Friday April 18th, 2014. To make sure you win that special item, join us at the FUNdraiser for final bids, OR make a 'proxy' bid that will hold that item for you unless/until there is a higher bid at the Live Auction. Proxy bids are not visible on the On-Line Auction OR on the Live Auction Sheets. You will be notified if your 'Proxy' bid has won the item.
