About The Dr. Yum Project

At The Dr. Yum Project we believe that eating well is the prescription for a healthy family, a healthy community and a healthy world. So we work hard on our mission to combat the many barriers to eating well faced by our community and beyond.

Unfortunately, healthy eating is difficult for numerous reasons, including poverty, access to fresh produce, lack of cooking skills, insufficient knowledge about nutrition, busy schedules, and false assumptions about the cost, taste, and ease of home cooking. Our cooking instruction, parent and family education, community outreach, preschool curriculum, and free educational website address these barriers and affect positive change on the lives of families.
