About Our Auction
Every year, our guild has challenges where a specific fabric or theme is selected and participants make a quilt or quilted items that adheres to the theme. Challenges are a great way for members to dive into a new technique, explore a new color palette, or make a difference in the world around them! It also is a great way to showcase the creativity of quilting as even though participants are given the same instructions, the results created are truly remarkable, yet strikingly different pieces of art.
One of our challenges in 2021 was to create a small quilt using a piece of black and white stripe fabric that all members received. Quilts were to be no larger than 18”x18” and the stripe fabric had to be used on the front of the quilt. Beyond that, it was up to each member to design and create the masterpieces that you can now bid on!
Members have also contributed other handmade items for bidding. All proceeds from this auction will be used for the operations of our Guild! We appreciate your consideration and interest!
About NWA Modern Quilt Guild
The Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Modern Quilt Guild (MQG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and encouraging the art of modern quilting. We encourage new quilters and other fiber artists interested in non-traditional art fiber projects and offer education opportunities through classes, workshops and sharing of information. We also support and provide opportunity for “charity” or other works that give back to the community through the use of quilting skills.
