About Our Auction

The winning T-shirts of last year’s T-Shirt Competition design contest have been transformed into a one-of-a-kind quilt by Mama Lee Wasson, Maxine Moore, and friends. Bid to win this cozy prize or make a donation in support of your NIRSA family!

The 2018 quilt auction opens at midnight on Rec Day, Thursday, February 22, and will close at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7. The winning bid will be announced at the Closing General Session on March 7. Our goal is to raise $3,000 from the winning bid and donations.

Participation in this auction is a unique way to give back to the campus recreation profession, which has enriched the lives and careers of so many students and professionals. Proceeds help the NIRSA Foundation live its mission to enhance the effectiveness of campus recreation by providing meaningful opportunities for NIRSA members through our four fields of interest: scholarship, research, leadership, and student officials’ development.

About NIRSA Foundation

Our mission: Through fundraising and stewardship efforts, the NIRSA Foundation strives to enhance the effectiveness of collegiate recreation by providing NIRSA members with meaningful opportunities for scholarship, research and professional development.

Founded in 1992, the NIRSA Foundation evolved out of a grassroots desire by members to give back to their NIRSA family. We live our mission through our four fields of interest: scholarship, research, leadership, and student officials’ development.

Because of the generosity of our donors, we deliver exceptional opportunities and resources to NIRSA members. We offer an increasing number of scholarships to various NIRSA educational events each year. We support NIRSA research initiatives such as the Institutional Data Set, publish the Recreational Sports Journal, and award research grants to members. We provide opportunities for volunteer leadership through the Board of Directors and multiple committees. We support the training of student officials at the annual National Championship Series Flag Football and Basketball tournaments.
