About Our Auction
"Austin: Where the Purses are the Stars" is a Satchels & Purses for Nurses silent auction fundraiser taking place at In-Person NASN2025 and supports the NASN Endowment Fund.
We are excited this year to again offer online bidding! No more hovering over bidding sheets–this “online-only, anytime-bidding” auction allows you to bid right from your phone or any device with internet access at any time of day.
Join us for this fun-filled event showcasing many purses, totes, and satchels generously donated by the NASN Board, Affiliates, Past Presidents and friends. All proceeds go to the NASN Endowment, making it an opportunity to support and promote excellence in school nursing.
About NASN
The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) is a nonprofit specialty nursing organization, organized in 1968 and incorporated in 1977, representing school nurses exclusively. NASN has 19,000 members and 50 affiliates, including the District of Columbia and overseas. The mission of NASN is to optimize student health and learning by advancing the practice of school nursing.
Since its inception in 2008, the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Endowment Fund has supported scholarships and research. In June 2013, NASN achieved a major milestone by raising one million dollars for the Endowment Fund. Today, ongoing donations help sustain and grow the fund, ensuring the continued availability of scholarships and grants. The fund grows each year due to generous donations, most often sought by the Endowment Fundraising Committee.
Each year, nurses can apply for scholarship awards including: The Endowment Education Scholarship, The Advocacy Education Scholarship, The RN to BSN Education Advancement Scholarship, The New Member Scholarship, and The Diversity in School Nursing Scholarship. The availability of these awards is directly related to the account balance of the Endowment Fund and market fluctuations in interest rates. NASN is committed to growing the fund balance to allow for continuation and expansion of the scholarships and awards given.
Scholarships are available only to current NASN members. Additional information and application requirements can be found at NASN.org under “Membership” then “Just for NASN members.”
The Endowment Fundraising Committee works to identify fundraising opportunities to ensure that these scholarships and awards are well funded. This includes setting a fundraising goal for the year. The majority of the fundraising happens around the annual NASN conference.
