The Beautifull Cassandra

For collectors of Jane Austen or original book illustrations, this auction offers the opportunity to acquire a tangible connection to one of Austen’s earliest and most exuberant works and to one of our most beloved Austen scholars—while also supporting the preservation and study of women’s literary history at Chawton House.

Please note: The winning bidder will submit payment directly to North American Friends of Chawton House. Payment must be made prior to pickup or shipment.

North American Friends of Chawton House is a non-profit that exists expressly to raise funds for Chawton House, a stately home in England once owned by Jane Austen's brother, and to support its primary mission to raise awareness and increase understanding of the early women writers who preceded, inspired, and influenced Jane Austen. We help support the work that goes into maintaining the historic house, garden, and woodland as well as supporting its unique collection of rare books.
