Meritan Summer 2016 Auction

Each year Meritan hosts its signature event, the Meritan Midnight Classic Bike Tour. This year, in conjunction with this one-of-a-kind event in Memphis, Meritan will be hosting an online auction.

Each year Meritan assists 1,700 Mid-Southerners through various programs including specialized foster care (in Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee). In Memphis, Meritan offers programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, job training for low income seniors over the age of 55, home health, personal support and homemaker services. Meritan is also part of the Coordinated Response to Elder Abuse (CREA) team in Memphis, whose aim is to improve the protection of older adults in Memphis and Shelby County that are 60 years of age and older where there is a suspicion of physical, sexual or emotional abuse, or suspicions of neglect, abandonment or financial exploitation, regardless of the setting or situation.

Meritan’s direct services reduce the needs of nursing home admissions, lockdown foster care supervision, and institutional treatment of intellectually disabled individuals, reducing community costs for such services by over $25 million annually.
