The Madison West High Area Collaborative

Our Madison West High Area Collaborative has seen a huge increase in family rent and bill requests in the last two months. Unfortunately, most community organizations are out of funds, so our Collaborative has been one of the few places a West attendance area family can turn to for rent and other financial needs. The Collaborative serves students and families in the West High attendance area who attend one of these schools: West, Capital High West, West Micro School, Wright, Hamilton, Cherokee, Midvale, Lincoln, Franklin, Randall, Van Hise, Shorewood, Leopold, Thoreau.

Since March 2020, the Collaborative has supported more than 200 MMSD families, averaging just over $600 per family (that’s over $120,000!). Donations are critical to continue this support. Our goal is to raise $50,000 so we can support a hundred more families.

The Collaborative is asking for your help by participating in our Silent Auction Fundraiser.

About Madison West High Area Collaborative

The Collaborative is an educational barriers relief effort for students in the West High School attendance area. We formed at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic to provide weekly grocery deliveries to student families. Our mission quickly expanded to include rent/financial assistance and other support to help families meet basic needs and eliminate educational barriers for their kids.

As a collaborative of school staff, PTO’s and community members representing all schools within the West High attendance area, our values consist of: every student deserves food, every student deserves access to education, every student deserves access to health, every student deserves access to a place to lay their head.
