About Our Auction
With the surge in domestic violence due to COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, we are launching our very first online auction to raise money for victims of abuse in Dickson, Hickman, Humphreys, Lewis and Perry counties. Proceeds will be used to provide survivors in our community with crucial life-saving services and equip them with the things they need to break free from violence and rebuild safe, healthy lives for themselves and their children.
We will also have a Facebook Live event to promote the auction at the Centerville Church of Christ’s Outreach Center, located at 111 East Swan Street, Centerville TN, 37033, Friday March 12th and Saturday March 13th. The items will be on display at this event for the public to view by appointment. Local “celebrity auctioneers” will be “talking up” each item and promoting our sponsors throughout the weekend. About Women Are Safe, Inc.
Women Are Safe, Inc. began in 1987 as a volunteer effort to provide shelter and safety to victims of domestic violence in Hickman County, Tennessee. Today, we have nine volunteer board members, an Executive Director, a Program Assistant, three advocates and a DCS Liaison dedicated to our mission of serving the immediate needs of domestic violence victims in Dickson, Hickman, Humphreys, Lewis and Perry counties. In 2020 we provided over 3,000 safe bed nights to victims and their children.
With the global and LOCAL increase in domestic violence cases, awareness and action are urgently needed. This March, join us in spreading the Love Shouldn't Hurt message by participating in our online auction. Proceeds form the sale of all auction items will directly benefit the victims we serve.
