Lauren's One Wish - 5th Annual 5k & Silent Auction

Lauren's One Wish Foundation is an extraordinary and powerful tribute to 18 year old Lauren O'Hara who, while fighting leukemia, wished to help others. Today, her goal lives on with the 5th Annual Rainbow Run 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run on Sunday, December 9th at the Celery Fields in Sarasota Fl.

With fabulous supporters, like you, Lauren's One Wish has accomplished so much:

*Adopted the Day Use Room at the Ronald McDonald Central House.
A welcome respite for family members dealing with the intense/stressful/emotional happenings on the oncology or ICU floors.
*Initiated and funded the RMH's Sandwich Grab & Go program for families needing to return to their child’s hospital room quickly.
*Continue to add to the electronic wish list at Johns Hopkins-All Children’s Hospital in St. Pete's Oncology floor. Xboxes, PlayStations, Portable DVD players, games & movies create a diversion for these special kids, many stuck in their rooms for long periods of time.
*Establish scholarships at Sarasota High School and written many “Life Interrupted” grants (fun money) to local teens/kids affected by cancer. - *Regularly provide gas cards, SunPasses, Shipt & Publix gift certificates among other items to families in the cancer fight.

Lauren’s One Wish Foundation was created by Jean & Pat O’Hara to honor their daughter, Lauren O’Hara, who lost a nine month battle with leukemia at the age of 18. Lauren was a Sarasota High School track, cross county and soccer athlete with a big heart. Lauren’s wish was to help kids fighting cancer like her. Lauren’s Rainbow Run 5k & 1 Mile is the foundation’s main fundraiser along with our silent auction, with our participants, supporters & sponsors, it allows us to grant her wishes.
