About Our Auction
The Belleville Light The Night walk, established in 2022, honors the memory of Carol Goerke, whose kindness and caring continue to inspire hope. Annually, we strive to raise $100,000 to fund a critical research grant, accelerating the fight against blood cancer and working towards a cure.
All proceeds from our on line auction go directly to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, supporting their vital efforts in research, advocacy, and patient support for all blood cancers. We extend our sincere gratitude to our community for their generous item donations and to everyone who bids, helping us achieve our mission.

About Light The Night Belleville and Area
Light The Night brings communities across Canada together for one magical evening bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers. This year, Belleville and Area walk will take place at Zwick's Park on October 5th, 2024 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. We will come together to honour survivors, support those coping with blood cancer and those who have lost a loved one to blood cancer.
Inspiration for Light the Night Belleville began when Carol Goerke saw a poster for Light the Night at Kingston General Hospital while she was undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. In Carol's words “when I am better we are going to do this walk!" Carol was an incredibly kind and loving woman who was always helping others. She loved her family and friends and would do everything she could to make a difference in their lives We remember and honour Carol by walking together every October to light the night!
Blood cancers are the fifth most common form of cancer in Canada, affecting more than 155,000 Canadians—our family members, our friends and neighbours, our colleagues, ourselves. But together, we can shine a light toward a future without blood cancers.
Let's come together as a community to show our support!
