About Our Auction

We are pleased to present our 2nd annual all-member “LPAPA Squared” year-end juried art show as both an online virtual gallery exhibition and as a physical show at the new LPAPA Gallery!

The show will open online Monday, November 29th with special pricing through LPAPA's "virtual gallery preview auction” accessed in advance of the physical gallery show opening on Thursday December 2nd. This unique format provides collectors from near and far with the opportunity to add a special work of art to their collection, and support LPAPA and the Artists while enjoying a potential 20% savings!

All artwork is 8” x 8” and sold framed with a starting auction price at 80% of the full gallery retail price, with bidding at minimum $10 increments. To encourage support of its Artists, LPAPA is reducing its share of the sales proceeds and passing along the potential 20% savings to the Collector through the auction. Love it? Want it? We've added a Buy-Now feature so you can buy it at the full retail price before the show opens at the gallery!

The online preview and silent auction open on Monday, November 29th at 10:00 am PT; the auction ends Thursday, December 2nd at 8:00 pm PT. Need assistance? Contact us by email at info@lpapa.org, call us at (949) 376-3635, or visit us at the LPAPA Gallery on Thursday, December 2nd (hours 11AM-5PM + extended hours for the Art Walk Gallery Reception 6PM-9PM). The online virtual gallery and LPAPA Gallery art shows will continue through January 3, 2022.

The LPAPA Gallery is located at 414 N. Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, California. The Gallery Reception & Awards Presentation will be hosted during Art Walk on Thursday, December 2nd, 6:00 to 9:00 pm, with awards to be announced at 7:00 pm. We will also host a live-stream broadcast of the awards presentation through the LPAPA Facebook Page.

Additional “LPAPA Squared” artwork can be viewed in the expanded online gallery show that includes all of the semi-finalists at DailyBrushworks.com or event webpage at https://lpapa.org/110121-art-nature-art-show/ for details.

About Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA)

The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art organization that was originally founded in Laguna Beach in 1996 by five artists -- Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Cynthia Britain, Saim Caglayan, and John Cosby -- with a mission to preserve the history of the plein air movement of 19th century California, to support the tradition as it exists today, and to foster a network among plein air painters nationwide.

LPAPA is considered the stewards of Laguna’s plein air painting legacy, which helped establish our town as an artists’ colony more than a century ago. Early plein air artists -- Edgar Payne, Frank Cuprien, Anna Hills, William Wendt, and other now famous artists -- founded the original Laguna Beach Art Association and opened the first art gallery in 1918. The permanent collection they started later established the town’s museum. LPAPA is committed to continuing the outdoor painting tradition and preserving the Laguna Plein Air Painting legacy.

LPAPA's mission includes career opportunities and education programs to help enhance the livelihood of our artist members and community, as well as educate and inspire the next generation of artists to continue the legacy.

Your support keeps the Laguna plein air painting tradition and legacy --- past, present and future alive! Thank you!
