About Our Auction

The LPAPA Gallery is proud to present a beautiful showcase exhibition of our Signature Artist Member's work at the LPAPA Gallery and online. The 2nd Annual Signature Showcase Art Show opens online with this pre-gallery-opening silent auction on Monday January 2nd at 10:00 am PST.

The preview auction pricing starts at 80% of the gallery price, which provides LPAPA art collectors with a limited time opportunity to add a special painting to their collection at a potential 20% savings!

The auction has a buy-now feature to encourage friendly competitive buying, and added support for nonprofit LPAPA, and gives Collectors the ability to secure a purchase before the gallery show opens to the public on January 5th. All artwork is sold framed.

The auction ends at 8:00 pm PST on Thursday, January 5th during the First Thursdays Art Walk gallery reception.

If you are in or near Laguna Beach, please plan to join us at the LPAPA Gallery for the First Thursdays Art Walk Gallery Reception to celebrate the opening of this special exhibition on Thursday, January 5th, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The LPAPA Gallery is located at 414 N. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, California. Gallery hours are 11am to 5pm, Thursday through Monday and by appointment, with extended hours to 9pm for Art Walk the First Thursday of each month.

Gallery exhibition dates are January 5th through February 27, 2023. Learn more at https://lpapa.org/010523-lpapa-gallery-signature-artist-showcase-art-show/.

About Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA)

The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art organization that was originally founded in Laguna Beach in 1996 by five artists -- Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Cynthia Britain, Saim Caglayan, and John Cosby -- with a mission to preserve the history of the plein air movement of 19th century California, to support the tradition as it exists today, and to foster a network among plein air painters nationwide.

LPAPA is considered the stewards of Laguna’s plein air painting legacy, which helped establish our town as an artists’ colony more than a century ago. Early plein air artists -- Edgar Payne, Frank Cuprien, Anna Hills, William Wendt, and other now famous artists -- founded the original Laguna Beach Art Association and opened the first art gallery in 1918. The permanent collection they started later established the town’s museum. LPAPA is committed to continuing the outdoor painting tradition and preserving the Laguna Plein Air Painting legacy.

LPAPA's mission includes career opportunities and education programs to help enhance the livelihood of our artist members and community, as well as educate and inspire the next generation of artists to continue the legacy.

Your support keeps the Laguna plein air painting tradition and legacy --- past, present and future alive! Thank you!
