About Our Auction
LPAPA's 17th Annual "Best of Plein Air" juried plein air art show, is being presented as an online virtual gallery exhibition and sale, with special pricing with the auction feature. This provides a unique opportunity for the collectors to add a special plein air work of art to their collection while supporting LPAPA and the Artists through challenging times!
The artists donate 50% of their full unframed gallery price to support LPAPA. In an effort to encourage support of its Artists, LPAPA is reducing its usual 50% share of the full sales price to 25%, passing along a potential 25% savings to the Collector. We've added the auction feature and buy-now opportunity to encourage friendly competitive buying and added support for LPAPA!
All artwork is available with a starting price of 75% of the full value gallery unframed price, with auction bidding at minimum $10 increments. The artists will receive his or her full 50% of the full gallery price, and LPAPA will receive the portion of sale proceeds above the artist's commission.
In addition, all artwork is sold unframed, allowing the Collector the opportunity to enjoy lower unframed pricing, and to make his or her own choice of framing…and, Randy Higbee of King of Frame is offering LPAPA Best of Plein Air collectors a 40% discount on framing!
Exhibition dates are March 8 - 14, 2021, with the auction and sales commencing Monday March 8th at 10:00 am, and ending Sunday March 14th at 5:00 pm PST.
LPAPA is hosting a Virtual Reception & Awards Presentation on Thursday, March 11th, 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with awards to be announced at 5:30 pm. About Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA)
The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) was founded in Laguna Beach in 1996 with a mission to preserve the history of the plein air movement of 19th century California, to support the tradition as it exists today, and to foster a network among plein air painters nationwide.
LPAPA is considered the stewards of Laguna’s plein air legacy, which established our town as an artists’ colony more than a century ago. Early plein air artists founded the original Laguna Beach Art Association and opened the first art gallery in 1918 and started a permanent collection that later established the town’s museum. LPAPA is committed to continuing the plein air painting tradition and preserving the Laguna Plein Air Painting legacy.
Your support will help us keep the plein air painting tradition and legacy alive for future generations! Thank you!
