LEASIDE ON ICE SILENT AUCTION

On Friday, November 22nd Leaside Memorial Community Gardens will host its first annual “Leaside On Ice” FUNdraiser. The event, which will feature skating, music, food and drink, is the first community fundraiser hosted by the facility’s board, since the completion of the arena expansion in 2012.

The second ice pad at the Gardens was built through a combination of financial support from the community – over $3 million dollars was raised – and a pair of loans from the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto. This month’s fundraiser marks a significant step in accelerating our repayment of those loans, and the silent auction plays a key role in generating that revenue. Thank you for bidding on these great items, generously donated by community members.

Leaside Memorial Community Gardens opened its doors over 60 years ago and has been a focal point of the local community ever since. Open seven days a week and boasting a double-pad ice rink, a hockey shop, a banquet room, an indoor swimming pool and a curling rink, people living in Leaside and environs gather together at this facility to play hockey, figure skate, swim and socialize.
