Island Montessori Silent Auction 2025

Inclusion and accessibility are not optional for our school, they are integral. We rely on Fundraising revenue to support our inclusion program, and the dedicated inclusion staff. The Province of British Columbia has made huge cuts in funding for preschools with children needing additional supports. This means that the wages of our Inclusion workers are paid out of our savings. Inclusion workers are essential to all classrooms and all children. A diverse classroom includes people of all abilities, cultures, economic status, and we are committed to making space for children who struggle to find support. Funds collected from this Fundraiser will be spent to support our inclusion efforts, either through wages, training, accessibility improvements as well as playground improvements using more durable and sustainable equipment made from natural materials.

Island Montessori is a non-profit organization and a registered charity. We have served our community for over fifty years, as an inclusive preschool for children aged two and a half through age five. At Island Montessori, we believe that children need LOVE and inclusion from their caregivers to grow and develop to their utmost potential. We believe that it is essential to respect cultural differences, and differences in abilities. As a community and school, it is our differences that make us strong and enable us to support one another.
