Italian Community Center - Carnevale 2021

il Grande Carnevale XLII – 42nd Annual Carnevale – a Virtual Celebration!

Dating back to the 15th Century, Carnevale di Venezia (the Carnival of Venice ) is an annual festival held in Venice, Italy. The Carnival ends with the Christian celebration of Lent, forty days before Easter, on Shrove Tuesday (Martedì Grasso or Mardi Gras), the day before Ash Wednesday.

In celebration of this Italian tradition, the Italian Community Center proudly presents the Virtual 42nd il Grande Carnevale, featuring royalty, costumes and masks, cooking demonstrations by well-known Milwaukee chefs, mixology/cocktail demo, DJ-provided music for dancing in your living room, performances, an incredible online auction and fireworks – a full, spectacular evening.

Carnevale is an important fundraising event that supports the wonderful cultural and community activities at the Italian Community Center. Your support will mean the world to us. Truly.

About Italian Community Center

The Italian Community Center of Milwaukee (ICC) is an ethnic organization that was founded in 1978 to celebrate the heritage and culture of Wisconsin’s Italian American community. The most visible example of that is an annual summer festival known as Festa Italiana featuring food, entertainment and cultural exhibits that highlight the Italian experience.

The Italian Community Center celebrates pride in and awareness of the Italian culture by sponsoring lectures, classes, conferences and study groups devoted to the contributions which Italians have made to our world.

The Italian Community Center is a place where history is taught, memories are shared, and friends gather – the ICC must remain the center of the Italian community, filled with people of all ages spending time together and ensuring the preservation of all things Italian – to make sure this generation and the next appreciate the importance and beauty of speaking Italian, dancing and singing Italian, painting Italian and cooking Italian, and preserving Italian customs and traditions of days gone by.

This auction will help provide the ICC with the money needed to offer classes, workshops & events that celebrate Italian music, culture, food, and wine on a regular basis.
