The Fourth HomeStart Foundation Online Auction is held to increase awareness of our furniture bank, raise funds and to spotlight the many generous local supporters.

All the money raised goes to provide essential home furnishings to people in need.

HomeStart Foundation is a Vancouver based furniture bank. We recognize that furniture does more than give someone a place to sleep, eat or store their clothing - pieces of furniture are the building blocks of a home.

HomeStart provides essential home furnishings to more than 40 homes a month to a variety of clients. These include refugees & displaced persons (especially Afghani & Ukrainian families this year), women and children fleeing domestic violence, children aging out of foster care, and others without the means of making a comfortable home.

Over 60 social service agencies throughout the Lower Mainland refer clients to our program. We receive furniture donations from both members of the community, as well as various local companies. While the service is provided at no charge to the client, it costs approximately $270 to furnish a home.
