About Our Auction
More than a dozen local artists have donated their time and imagination to paint dogs, cats, and butterflies that will be auctioned off as a fundraiser for the Friends of the Haworth Library. Throughout the summer, these colorful creatures have been on display in various Haworth businesses (and in the library), and they'll be all together for you to see in town on Haworth Day -- September 27. The high silent auction bid becomes the opening bid at our live auction, Thursday night, October 9th, 7:30, at the Haworth Library.
All cats, dogs, and butterflies have had a finishing coat of sealant, by the way, so they can be outdoor or indoor animals (except for "Book Spot" -- he is an indoor dog). A generous donation from Lorraine and George Kipel have made this fundraising auction possible. Thanks also to Realf Schermer and his friend Jon Bauer for making the bases for the Paws creatures, and to Closter Northern Valley Auto Body Shop for help with the sealant.
