About Our Auction
This is the first online auction for the Hillsborough United Church of Christ (HUCC). The auction features art, collectibles and other items from members and friends of HUCC who have generously donated them to help raise money for the missions supported by HUCC. When individuals "win" these items through generous bidding, the money goes not to the donor but to HUCC to support organizations that serve our local and broader communities.
An in-person preview of all items up for auction will be held at HUCC, 200 Davis Rd., Hillsborough, NC on November 7th from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
The goal for the auction is $2,500. If you don't see an item you want to bid on, you can still support HUCC missions by donating HERE.
Proceeds will support HUCC missions including the following local organizations:
OCIM
Orange Congregations In Mission (OCIM) is a private, non-profit ministry located in Hillsborough, North Carolina. The membership, volunteers, and staff of OCIM are committed to providing a helping hand to those in our community in a crisis situation. Through the volunteer efforts of diverse congregations and individuals inspired by faith in God, OCIM has served the northern Orange County community for almost 40 years through programs such as Meals on Wheels and Samaritan Relief.
Benevolence Farm
The mission of Benevolence Farm, located in Alamance County, is to cultivate leadership, promote sustainable livelihoods, and reap structural change with individuals impacted by the criminal legal system in North Carolina. Their flagship program — transitional housing and employment — provides a space for women and gender expansive people returning home from prison and jail to process, heal, and prepare for what’s next in a rural setting surrounded by nature.
Habitat for Humanity Orange County
Habitat for Humanity-Orange County partners with households to create healthier, more secure lives. Habitat builds new homes for local families who already live or work in our community. Volunteer labor and donations of money and materials help to keep the homes affordable. Homes are sold with low-interest mortgages, and homeowners make monthly payments, which are set at 30% or less of their income, making homeownership an affordable reality. In addition to building new homes, Habitat also partners with homeowners who live in non-Habitat homes to assist them in making needed repairs.
