The Hayward Education Foundation (HEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for all students in Hayward’s public, private, and charter schools. By funding teacher-led, innovative classroom projects, we help students build critical skills, explore their creativity, and develop a lifelong love of learning. 

Since 1983, HEF has awarded over $1.3 million in classroom grants. Thanks to your generosity, in the 2024–2025 school year alone, we funded 75 innovative projects totaling $67,417.22 —an incredible milestone that made a direct impact on students throughout our community. As we move into the 2025–2026 school year, the need remains urgent. Many Hayward students face economic and social barriers that impact their learning. Your support helps level the playing field by giving teachers the resources to create engaging, hands-on experiences that inspire and empower students—especially those from underserved communities.

Since 1983, the Hayward Education Foundation (HEF) has depended upon the community’s generosity to generate the funds necessary to support innovative and creative classroom projects. Since inception, we have given over $1,320,000 to Hayward classrooms. Our success is based on the funds we raise through your generous donations. We can only give what we receive.
