Over the past two years, our teachers and students have been put through a myriad of learning challenges – distance learning, hybrid classrooms, the return to the classroom, and the strain of uncertainty – with quality education becoming harder to achieve.

We were determined to help Hayward teachers and students have the books and manipulatives that were necessary to offset the one-dimensional experience of distance or hybrid teaching and learning. During these unprecedented times, your donations have helped us to fund over $80K in materials to support learning.

We are proud of the support we gave through your donations. The teachers, schools, and their projects are listed on our website to give you an idea of what was accomplished.

As we embark on a new school year, teachers and students need the opportunity to lift off and soar into excellence...to collaborate with each other in project learning and problem solving…to have the ability to achieve quality education without the constraints of uncertainty.

And that’s where you come in! The Hayward Education Foundation can only give what it receives from its donors. Our success is based on the generous donations that we receive from you.

It is our goal for 2022-2023, to raise money to give our teachers more tools and resources that will expand lessons and capture students’ imaginations. With your help, we can put more innovative projects and tools into Hayward classrooms. The majority of Hayward’s public school student population comes from highly disadvantaged families. These students are most at risk and have the highest need, especially compared to other local school districts. That is why your partnership is invaluable to us. We want to do more for these students, so they can have the same opportunities to be engaged and excited about learning.

The Hayward Education Foundation is a non-profit organization (501(c)3) whose purpose is to enhance the educational opportunities for students in all Hayward schools. We achieve this by providing support to teachers for innovative projects in Hayward classrooms.

Since 1983, the Hayward Education Foundation (HEF) has depended upon the community’s generosity to generate the funds necessary to support innovative and creative classroom projects. Since inception, we have given over $1,040,000 to Hayward classrooms. Our success is based on the funds we raise through your generous donations. We can only give what we receive.
