About Humane Animal Partners

For decades, Delaware Humane Association and Delaware SPCA have written their own individual stories. With our recent merger, we begin a new chapter full of happy endings for dogs, cats, and the people who love them. Introducing Humane Animal Partners.

These two longstanding organizations merged to combine their strengths and better serve the community; provide more access to programs and services; and save more animals.

Every year, thousands of companion animals come to our shelters in search of a warm bed, good meal, and most importantly, a new home. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to ensure that our dogs and cats receive the best care possible during their stay at our facilities. We’re committed to preparing all adoptable animals for a new home by keeping them well-groomed, giving them daily exercise and affection, and providing critical veterinary care. HAP serves the community by offering affordable spay/neuter services, low-cost vaccination clinics, and a pet food pantry for those in need.

We are a local organization that does not receive funding from any national organization for annual operations, nor are we a branch of any group, and not governed by them. We depend on our generous community to carry out our lifesaving work.
