Our Mission
The Wakefield Grannies are dedicated to staying personally connected with grandmothers in South Africa who are raising their AIDS-orphaned grandchildren.
Through friendship, financial support, and solidarity, we walk alongside them, offering encouragement and mutual care.
Founded in 2004 in Wakefield, Quebec, we remain a grassroots, independent organization built on compassion and connection.
About Wakefield Grannies
The Wakefield Grannies support AIDS Orphans and their Grandmothers in South Africa in both Alexandra Township, Gauteng, through the Orphans' Project and in Nulazatsche village in Kwazulu Natal through the Rotary Club of Pietermaritzburg. We provide financial assistance, friendship, solidarity and mutual moral support.
