About Our Auction
The GWCS PAC (Parents Acting Collaboratively) group runs the annual online auction to provide money to enhance the current school curriculum. The PAC raises money for the “Four T's- Teachers, Technology, Trips, and Traditions". Some examples include:
* Teachers: Appreciation Events, Birthday Gifts, Classroom Support and improvements, Professional Development
* Technology: Specialized technology equipment, services and software over and above routine IT expenses
* Trips: Senior writing retreat, junior trip to Gettysburg, OBX trips
* Traditions: Graduation, Heritage Feast, Event Night
Last year over $18K was raised and new and enhanced field trips and activities for the students were immediately put into place, including a full line up of OBX trips, the Senior trip, the Junior Trip to Gettysburg. The Technology spending was utilized on updating the entire GWCS computer system to the cloud and developing a new website. Dr. Cox also went to an AP Computer Science Course over the summer, and now a new AP course is being offered at GW. The Auction does make a difference!
Our goal this year is $19,000.
