Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) is dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Serving thousands of girls across Rhode Island, southeastern Massachusetts, and Pawcatuck, Connecticut, GSSNE provides leadership experiences, outdoor adventures, and life skills development in a supportive, inclusive environment. Through hands-on programs, community service, and mentorship, we empower girls to discover their strengths, explore new opportunities, and create lasting change in their communities. 

Since 1919, Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) has welcomed all girl-identifying youth in grades K-12 and adult volunteers who accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law.  Our mission is to build Girl Scouts of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girl Scouts is a leadership development program designed to help youth discover their personal best and prepare for a positive future, connect with others in an increasingly diverse world, and take action to solve problems and improve their communities. GSSNE serves all of Rhode Island and 13 cities and towns in nearby MA and CT. The inclusive membership model and approach prioritize participants in under-served communities, the youth of all racial/ethnic groups, and youth with special needs. 

This year, we will serve over 4,000 youth Girl Scouts in partnership with 2,500 adult volunteers. Girl Scouts explore their potential without competition from cisgender boys – an opportunity many educators consider essential for girls to achieve future aspirations. GSSNE offers a wide range of outdoor programs, troop activities, workshops, field trips, and STEAM activities. Community service is an integral part of Girl Scouting, including a Council-wide service project.
