Help A Greyhound

GALT Central Texas is an all volunteer, non-profit organization. All funds raised are used for the care of greyhounds in the Central Texas area.

This year has been a challenging one for GALT Central Texas, with several of our new arrivals needing extraordinary medical care. Julie was found stray and was Heartworm positive, Flame had a previously undiagnosed bleeding disorder and was rushed to the emergency clinic for the weekend for special treatment including a transfusion, Titan required oral surgery to correct a birth defect that was causing him pain, Annie is under the care of a veterinary ophthalmologist, and our newest hound Josie will need physical therapy to overcome a leg injury.

Our lives have become so busy, but our fundraising needs have not slowed down. We never want to neglect a greyhound in need, for lack of funds. We hope you will support our first online auction. Happy bidding!

Our mission is to find responsible loving homes for greyhounds, to acquaint the public with the desirability of greyhounds as pets and to inform them of the availability of greyhounds for adoption.

We place all dogs into volunteer foster homes upon coming into our group. We do not operate a kennel. This helps us get to know the dog and their personality before they go to their forever home. We pride ourselves in helping you pick the perfect dog for your family. While the dogs are in their foster home, they are taken to the veterinarian to get spayed or neutered, have all their vaccinations, their teeth are cleaned, and they are tested for heartworms and intestinal parasites. During this time, they are also evaluated for injuries, behavioral or health problems. They begin learning to be a pet!
