LPAPA's "From Dusk to Dawn"

LPAPA's Annual "From Dusk to Dawn" juried nocturne art show is presented as two exhibitions, with the juried finalist exhibited at the LPAPA Gallery and the top scoring semi-finalists exhibited at the Laguna Beach City Hall. All of the available artwork juried into the physical exhibitions can be viewed through this online auction as well as LPAPA's online art catalog. Both shows open with this online preview auction.

Proceeds from the sale of artwork benefit the artists and nonprofit Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA).

All of the artwork is sold framed and is available with a starting auction price of 80% of the full gallery price, with $10 minimum bid increments. The artists generously donate 50% of the full gallery price to support LPAPA. To encourage sales and support of its Artists, for a limited time through this preview auction, LPAPA is reducing its usual 50% share of the sales price to 30%, passing along a potential 20% savings to the Collector. The preview auction also includes a "buy-now" feature at the full gallery price to encourage friendly competitive buying and added support for LPAPA!

Auction dates are August 3rd- August 6th, 2026. Auction bidding and sales will commence August 3rd at 10:00 am PDT and end Thursday, August 6th at 8:00 pm PDT.

The Finalist paintings will be on display at the LPAPA Gallery in Laguna Beach, August 6th through August 31st, 2026. The top scoring Semi-Finalists will be exhibited at the Laguna Beach City Hall, August 10th to September 17th, 2026.

A Legacy Rooted in History

Laguna Beach was established as a world-renowned artists' colony in 1918 by plein air pioneers such as Edgar Payne, Frank Cuprien, and Anna Hills. These artists founded the original Laguna Beach Art Association, creating the gallery and permanent collection that evolved into today’s museum.

Continuing the Tradition

In 1996, five contemporary artists—Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Cynthia Britain, Saim Caglayan, and John Cosby—founded the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) to ensure this century-old tradition would continue to thrive. Today, we support a global network of artists and provide the education and career opportunities necessary to sustain their livelihoods.
