SAM is pleased to present a unique opportunity for all collectors! This auction includes artwork demonstrating the creative process from concept to completion by four of the West’s most noted contemporary plein air painters, Ralph Oberg, Skip Whitcomb, Matt Smith, and Dan Young.
Each auction item includes:
1. One framed concept sketch by the artist

About Steamboat Art Museum
SAM is a non-profit art museum in a remote region where art museum exposure is limited by geography, SAM fills an important cultural niche for NW Colorado, easily accessible in the heart of downtown Steamboat. SAM’s exhibits give rise to unique programming for all ages. Educational outreach is developed specifically with, and for, targeted groups from regional schools, afterschool, homeschool, and at-risk groups, the physical and cognitively impaired, seniors and other human services groups. SAM offers frequent workshops and lectures, taught by regional reputable artists or exhibit featured artists, that provide important professional development in various creative subjects and media. Subjects include studio and plein air painting in watercolor, oil and pastel, bookbinding, drawing, and art history.
