2025 Raising Green for Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green Park is a special place in our neighborhood. Located at 140 W 20th Street, this small but vibrant park provides a peaceful green space where neighbors can gather, relax, and connect. It’s a quiet retreat in the heart of Chelsea, with shaded seating, a welcoming play area for children, and plenty of room to enjoy a moment outdoors.


Beyond being a beautiful space, Chelsea Green Park brings our community together through events like Spring street fairs, Halloween festivities, and live performances. These free programs create opportunities for connection, creativity, and joy for everyone in Chelsea!

Friends of Chelsea is a 501c3 support organization for the Chelsea Green Park located at 140 W. 20th St in Manhattan, NYC. The Friends of Chelsea Green works to support the NYC Parks Department in caring for Chelsea Green Park and fostering community among the local users of the park. The group sponsors free events in the park which have included, music, exercise classes, and celebrations of spring and Halloween to name a few. Through an email list, the FOGC share information with followers and allow for the users of the park to provide feedback on the park. In addition, the FOCG supports a free WIFI network in the park for all to use. As the park continues to grow the Friends of Chelsea Green are always for opportunities to make the park better for the residents of the Chelsea neighborhood and all visitors to the park.
