December Disco

Join your friends and church members in the liveliest event on the First Unitarian Universalist calendar, the Annual Auction and Fundraiser!

This year's auction theme is "December Disco" where we will relive the food and music of the 70's, make merriment with our friends, while financially supporting First UU church. Fellow congregants and local Houston businesses have donated many exciting items: arts and sports tickets, hosted dinner parties, jewelry, vacation homes, art and crafts, books and poetry, personal walking and biking tours, and many more. And all proceeds from the auction support the operation of our church.

The silent online auction runs from Saturday, November 29th at 12 Noon to Saturday, December 6th at Noon. Many of online auction items will transition into the live event and party on Saturday evening, December 6th. The evening will culminate with the always fun live auction run by our favorite auctioneer member.  

Located in Houston's Museum District, First Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston is dedicated to being a multicultural, intergenerational, and multiracial congregation in the city's most diverse urban center. 

We extend the circle of love by respecting the worth and dignity of all people, advancing justice and religious pluralism, and inspiring a spirituality that is always deep and inclusive. 

In the years ahead, we will serve as a pillar for the people of Houston in their many expressions and we will build the beloved community by:
- Providing religious leadership and collective action dedicated to ecological, sociological, and racial justice;
- Increasing opportunities for transformative spiritual growth, for our members and those who seek it;
- Serving as responsible stewards by committing our time, talents, and treasures; and
- Expanding and deepening our intergenerational community.

The December Disco Live Event begins at 6 PM on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Houston, 5200 Fannin Street. 

Most of the silent auction items offered online, will transition into the live event and party for further bidding from 6 - 8 PM. You can enjoy dinner, drinks, and music in a convivial atmosphere of a 'disco' decorated Channing Hall. 

The evening concludes with a live auction held in the sanctuary on 10 special items reserved to bring laughter and fun to conclude the evening.
