About Our Auction
Thank you for supporting the FirstCong youth 2025 Mission Trip!
In June, youth from our church will be going on a mission trip to Fort Worth Texas with a focus on food insecurity. The trip is through the organization Be the Neighbor, a partnership organization between the United Church of Christ and The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The group will be doing hands-on work in places like community gardens and food pantries/kitchens and also learning about advocacy efforts to secure and increase affordable access to healthy food. This trip is open to all current high schoolers (grades 9-12).
Proceeds raised in this auction will help offset the costs of the trip for the youth and chaperones that are attending. Please browse the items listed on our auction site and bid on anything that interests you. You will need to create a login to bid on items.
If you'd like to donate an item or service, it's not too late! Email Bob Brown (rwbrown@umich.edu) with donation information and we'll get it added to the auction right away.
About First Congregational UCC
First Congregational Church is a vibrant, multi-generational, theologically progressive congregation of the United Church of Christ. We celebrate our commitment to be a congregation living out faith as a journey, compassionate service, and inclusion of all. Inspired by the boundless grace of God as revealed in the radical love of Jesus Christ, we aim to make the words “All are Welcome” as inclusive as they sound.
Children, youth, and families are a vital part of our congregation. We celebrate the uniqueness and God-given gifts of each beloved child of God, every one of us, as we support and encourage them to grow more fully into the person God created them to be.
We believe faith is a lifelong calling into relationship with God and creation. It starts at the beginning! Through worship music, classroom-type learning, service, and fellowship, we walk with one another on this journey through all stages of life. Our programs for children and youth span from preschool through high school.
For a week in June, our high school students travel to another part of the country to work together on a service project. In recent years, our youth and their adult advisors have helped a community in Puerto Rico rebuild after Hurricane Maria, learned about refugee resettlement in Seattle, worked with animals at the site of Heifer International in Arkansas, and traveled on a Civil Right Pilgrimage to Birmingham and Montgomery. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends while making a difference for good in the world.
