About Our Auction

This is the second annual online fundraising auction to raise funds for our annual competitive grants program to support the 48 libraries of the
Southern Tier Library System covering Allegany, Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler and Yates counties. Our goal of raising $ 12,500 from the auction will enable us to increase library funding from last year and enable our libraries to change people's lives as vibrant community centers, as technological outposts, and creative hubs for lifelong learning for all.

About Foundation for Southern Tier Libraries

The Foundation for Southern Tier Libraries (FSTL) was established in 2011 to support the 48 libraries in the five-county Southern Tier Library System consisting of Allegany, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Yates counties. The FSTL offers grant funding that allows our libraries to pursue materials, programming or equipment that are beyond their annual operating budgets. Nearly $ 100,000 has been awarded to 32 libraries to fund innovative, enriching and practical projects that have greatly benefitted their patrons. Such grants have included an electric snowblower that can be safely stored and keeps library entrances safe and accessible; a seed library that includes seeds and gardening books; picnic tables and tents for outdoor programing; WiFi hot spots; crafts programs for children and adults; a shed to house a tool lending library; a Claymation workshop; Science discovery kits with books and experiments to take home; and these are just a few of the great programs that we have funded.
The Foundation mission is to help our libraries welcome all and continually adapting to the ever-changing demands of life in the 21st century. We help to keep our libraries vibrant and innovative.
